Our Story
Established in 2010, Meeow Chicago began in the West Town neighborhood with a simple vision: to create a boarding and grooming facility exclusively for felines. We saw the need for a space designed specifically for cats, and in the spirit of “The Year of the Cat,” Meeow Chicago was born.
In October 2013, we relocated to the Lincoln Park neighborhood and opened a new, state-of-the-art, feline-only facility. Designed with every cat’s comfort and safety in mind, this location set a new standard in luxury cat boarding and grooming.
When the Covid-19 pandemic brought new challenges, we responded by launching our mobile grooming spa. This allowed us to provide safe, convenient grooming services right at our clients’ doorsteps. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and SPAMEEOW! quickly became Chicago’s premier mobile cat grooming service.
After 10 successful years in Lincoln Park, we are proud to announce the opening of our newest location near O’Hare. These new accommodations offer a luxurious experience—fit for Egyptian Kitties—with personalized attention tailored to each cat’s individual needs.
Today, Meeow Chicago remains the city’s only exclusive cat boarding provider and the only mobile cat grooming service in town. Our commitment to top-tier feline care continues, and we look forward to serving Chicago’s cats for years to come.

Is Meeow Chicago only for cats?
100%-NO DOGS ALLOWED! Chicago’s 1st and ONLY Feline exclusive care facility.
What are the hours of the webcams?
Webcams are up 8A-8P CST daily. ENJOY!
Can you provide injections or medical boarding?
We are unable to provide injections or any medications requiring injections as it is considered veterinary service in Illinois when not performed by the client. We suggest reaching out to your vet for medical boarding and/or a referral of a trusted provider able to provide such service. Please note, some medications may be able to be put into liquid form, ointment form, compounded etc. As long as we are able to handle your pet & the condition is not life threatening we are more than willing to administer medications to your pet. Orally, in food, wiping on ear tips etc.
Are vaccinations required?
Rabies & Feline Distemper Vaccine (FVRCP) are required – *Titers are acceptable as well as veterinary exemption-Reach out to us for procedure.
What sanitation measures are in place?
Strict cleaning protocol for care in house cats & as well as full sanitizing for cats that depart. We are able to wash all bedding & wipe down all furniture, flooring etc. For our facility ventilation we are equipped with Pet Aerapy UV Disinfection Systems via our HVAC system and stationary stations throughout the facilities. Our goal is veterinary type cleaning protocols as much as possible to ensure a healthy, hygienic environment for both cats and staff.
How does your mobile grooming service work?
SPAMEEOW! Our mobile cat spa comes to you! New and fully equipped top of the line mobile conversion. Full service grooming from bath & blow drys to haircuts if needed all done with the gentlest of care & expertise. Our groomers are educated, trained & certified by the National Cat Groomers Institute. We know cats! Stress free for your cat but convenient for you!
Who’s caring for my cat?
CAT LOVERS! Our team includes staff of 5+ years with us, down to young high school aspiring animal care techs! Who wouldn’t want to play with cats all day! We LOVE cats and cats LOVE us!
How often should my cat be groomed?
Every cat is made up differently. Age, breed, medical needs all play a key role in determining your cats groom interval. Let our groom team discuss your needs, even better your cats needs and create a groom plan that works best. Minimally cats should be done 2-3X’s per year with most on a 4-8 week schedule-again dependent upon temperament, coat/skin condition & health needs. Seniors & FLOOFS MANDATORY! What Do I Need To Bring For Boarding?
Please bring your litter, food, approved medications & an item of clothing or pillowcase (something smelly like U!) that has the scents of home, familiar & calming for your cat that you are nearby.
